College of Pharmacy Council Meeting
The College of Pharmacy Council held its second session for the academic year 2024-2025 on Sunday 20-10-2024, headed by the Dean of the College of Pharmacy, Assistant Professor Dr. (Atheer Khalaf Zghair), and in the presence of all council members. The Chairman of the Council presented the most important recommendations of His Excellency the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the most important directives of the respected President of the University, stressing the need to adhere to and activate work on them. The meeting began with a welcoming speech by the Chairman of the Council to the attendees, and then began discussing the agenda items, including:
1. The respected Dean discussed with the members of the Council the final evaluation of the work of the committees assigned to prepare the college's self-evaluation report in order to obtain international accreditation. The Chairman of the Council praised the work of the assigned committees. After reviewing the final reports, it was approved to approve the college's self-evaluation plan.
2. The date of the mid-term exams for the current academic year 2024-2025 was also discussed. The Dean stressed the need for optimal preparation for preparing questions and arranging examination halls for mid-term exams.
3. The Council discussed the research plan and research output for the calendar year 2024. The Chairman of the Council stressed the need to urge lecturers to increase their research output and the need to complete the research expected to be completed for the remainder of the current year.
4. The College Council hosted the student representative in the College of Pharmacy. The Chairman of the Council and the members of the Council listened to the most important problems and demands conveyed by the student representative and discussed them and found appropriate solutions for them.
5. The College Council also hosted the representative of the lecturers in the college and after welcoming him, the most important problems and obstacles conveyed by the representative of the lecturers to the members of the Council were heard. They were discussed and found appropriate solutions for them.
6. The Council discussed several topics on the agenda and also discussed some issues related to scientific and administrative affairs and the Council took the necessary decisions regarding them.
The Council then completed the items of its working paper in discussing some scientific and administrative affairs.
