The College of Pharmacy Council Holds the Seventh Open Session for the 2024-2025 Academic Year
The College of Pharmacy Council held its seventh open session - the second part of the College Council for the 2024-2025 academic year on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 12:00 PM. The session was attended by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Atheer Khalaf Zgheir, and all esteemed College Council members.
At the beginning of the session, the esteemed Dean welcomed the Council members. The Chairman of the Council presented the most important directives and recommendations to His Excellency the Honorable Minister and the Honorable President of the University, emphasizing the need to adhere to and implement them.
The Council also discussed several topics on the agenda, including:

* The esteemed Dean emphasized the research output of the College's faculty and the need to encourage researchers to publish valuable research in international publishing platforms such as Scopus, Clarivate, and the Web of Science.
* The esteemed Dean discussed with the heads of the branches the issue of activating the Visiting Professor Program. The esteemed Dean highlighted the importance of hosting visiting professors from other regional and international universities and its significant role in providing students with experience and skills at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He also discussed joint cooperation with Arab and regional universities. He explained that such agreements contribute to raising the scientific and academic level of the college and the university.
*The College Council hosted a representative of the faculty at the college and a representative of the students at the College of Pharmacy. The Council heard about the most significant obstacles and problems facing the faculty and students at the college, which the student representative conveyed to the Council members. The esteemed Dean instructed appropriate solutions to all these obstacles.
*The esteemed Dean discussed the topic of entrepreneurial projects with the Council members, highlighting the importance of these projects and the significant benefits they bring to the College. The Council Chairman explained that entrepreneurial projects are projects built on new and innovative ideas. He emphasized the need to encourage faculty members to focus on research to serve this direction, and for the research to be of the type that can generate new ideas for establishing such projects. *Regarding the joint cooperation between the College of Pharmacy and government agencies, the College Council hosted the representative of the Pharmacists Syndicate, Anbar Branch, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Hamid Khalaf. A joint cooperation agreement was signed with the Pharmacists Syndicate. One of the most important points agreed upon was the organization and implementation of the summer training program for college students in pharmaceutical institutions. The agreement also included holding courses and seminars for students, supervised by members of the Pharmacists Syndicate, to enhance students' knowledge and develop their capabilities to enter the pharmaceutical labor market.
* The Council discussed the research plan and the progress made in publishing research during the current period. The Honorable Chairman of the Council emphasized the ongoing follow-up of the completion and publication of research in reliable sources.
* The Council discussed several topics on the agenda, as well as some issues related to academic and administrative affairs, and took the necessary decisions in this regard.
