 The College of Pharmacy Council Holds the Eighth Open Session for the 2024-2025 Academic Year
The College of Pharmacy Council held its eighth open session—the third and final part of the College Council—on Sunday, September 28, 2025, for the 2024-2025 academic year, at 12:00 PM. The session was chaired by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Atheer Khalaf Zgheir, and attended by all esteemed College Council members.
At the beginning of the session, the Dean welcomed the Council members and then presented the most important directives and recommendations issued by the esteemed University President, emphasizing the need to adhere to them and implement their content.
The Council also discussed several topics on the agenda, including:
1. The Chairman of the Council, in the presence of the Chairman of the Examination Committee, discussed the final results of the second round. After discussion, presentation, and analysis of the results, they were approved by the College Council.
2. The Dean discussed with the Council members the topic of digital transformation, which aims to integrate modern digital technologies into all academic and administrative processes within the university, with the goal of improving efficiency and enhancing the quality of educational services. He emphasized the need to clarify the importance of the HEPIQ platform, adopted by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Iraq as part of the digital transformation project, and highlighted its benefits to students throughout their studies. The Dean also explained that this transformation represents an urgent necessity in light of rapid technological development, the increasing number of students, and the need for flexible education and integrated academic support. He added that this system includes several programs, including:
o Learning Management System (LMS)
o Student Information System (SIS)
These systems enable the integrated management of academic and educational data, enhancing the experience of both students and faculty.
3. The Council Chairman discussed with the Council members the topic of internationalization of the college, addressing several topics that would activate agreements concluded with a number of Arab universities, contributing to the advancement of the academic process and the exchange of academic expertise. 4. The Dean directed the branch heads to ensure that faculty members adhere to the lecture and laboratory schedules as stated in the weekly class schedule, as well as to monitor the proper implementation of the curriculum to ensure its completion within the specified times. He also emphasized the importance of ensuring students adhere to university uniform.
5. The Dean called on the branch heads to hold regular meetings with faculty members and listen to the most prominent obstacles and problems they face. He emphasized that the process of correcting errors, exchanging experiences, and presenting ideas begins with the branch councils, emphasizing the importance of activating the role of these councils to serve the educational process within the college.
At the conclusion of the session, the council discussed a number of other issues related to academic and administrative affairs and made appropriate decisions and recommendations, which will contribute to the development of academic and administrative work within the college.
