As part of the College of Pharmacy's academic activities for the 2024-2025 academic year, the College of Pharmacy/Continuing Education Unit organized a training course entitled "Proper Methods for Isolating Organs from Laboratory Animals." The course was attended by Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Musleh Shuwaish, Assistant Professor Dr. Muhammad Malik Abdul Rahman, and Assistant Professor Dr. Samir Abdul Muhammad. This course covered a detailed understanding of internal organs and how to use appropriate anesthesia and euthanasia for animals, ensuring proper isolation of these organs for various pharmacological or toxicological purposes, as well as for histological sectioning and advanced physiological and pharmacological studies.
Isolating organs is an essential step in analyzing tissue structures and studying cell functions at the molecular level, which supports numerous medical and pharmaceutical studies.
Successful isolation depends on selecting the appropriate animal, using reliable anesthesia, and strict sterilization to ensure a clean and contamination-free sample.
The course began on April 29, 2025, and was held in the conference hall on May 4, 2025.
