The College of Pharmacy Council Holds its Fifth Open Session for the 2025-2026 Academic Year
The College of Pharmacy Council held its fifth session – Part One – on Wednesday, April 22, 2026, for the 2025-2026 academic year at 12:00 PM. The session was chaired by the Dean of the College, Assistant Professor Dr. Atheer Khalaf Zughair, and attended by all esteemed members of the College Council, along with the Head of the Pharmacists Syndicate in Anbar, Pharmacist Abdul Razzaq Hamid Khalaf.
At the beginning of the session, the Dean welcomed the members of the Council. He then presented the most important directives and recommendations to the University President and emphasized the necessity of adhering to and implementing them.
• Program Accreditation: Five Years of Excellence:
The Dean began the session by extending his warmest congratulations to all members of the College on achieving full program accreditation for five years. This achievement is not merely a milestone, but a foundation upon which we will build our path to excellence both locally and internationally. • Preparing for Final Exams:
The Council affirmed its complete readiness to administer the second semester exams, with a focus on completing all course materials.
• Scientific Research with a Global Spirit:
In an achievement reflecting the quality of our academic output, the Council commended a select group of faculty members for publishing rigorous scientific research in Scopus/Clarivate databases, in collaboration with researchers from prestigious international universities. These cross-border partnerships are key to our advancement in global rankings.
• Hosting the Head of the Anbar Pharmacists Syndicate:
In a step aimed at building bridges of cooperation between the academic institution and the job market, our college hosted the Head of the Anbar Pharmacists Syndicate (Pharmacist Abdul Razzaq Hamid Khalaf) at its last meeting. The meeting resulted in strategic visions that serve our students and their professional future, most importantly:
- A Shared Vision for the Future:
The Council discussed developing the college's vision, mission, and objectives, while ensuring the integration of the professional syndicate's feedback. To ensure our college remains a beacon of excellence, producing graduates who meet the aspirations of society and international quality standards.
- Professional Field Training:
It was agreed to enhance coordination to provide outstanding summer training opportunities for our students in pharmaceutical institutions, under joint scientific and professional supervision, to ensure the refinement of their skills before graduation.
- Preparing Students for the Anbar Job Market:
The realities of the job market in the province were discussed, with emphasis placed on the necessity of equipping students with modern "soft" skills and techniques, including:
1. Professional Pharmacy Management.
2. Effective Communication Skills with Patients.
3. Pharmaceutical Marketing Ethics.
The council discussed several agenda items, including the promotion of a number of faculty members and addressing various academic and administrative matters. The council then made the necessary decisions regarding these matters.
